Working properties
The wood of amapa is easily machined. Moderately easy to saw, planing and sanding yield good results and do not present chipping. Surface finishes with high gloss. Wood milling and boring results are excellent and and the operations show no defects. The wood does not give problems of gluing and surface finishing.
General description
Heartwood and sapwood indistinct in color, yellowish light brown with a rosy tinge; little luster; imperceptible odor and taste; medium density; grain irregular to interlocked; medium texture.
Main uses
Construction, furniture en other uses like veneer, packaging and broomsticks.
